Today's recipes are courtesy of the 1917 cookbook, The Community Cook Book. Compiled and published by the Woman's Auxiliary of the First Presbyterian Church. South Orange, New Jersey.
Rice and Pimentoes, a tasty sounding combination. There are actually two recipes for this on the same page. I like that one calls for a "snappy" cheese. The other recipe concludes "this is always liked." Was there a little competition with the rice dishes there at the First Presbyterian Church?
One of the reasons I love this cookbook is that it's full of advertisements. Including this one at the top of the page for a guy who owns an auto livery and is the undertaker.
Have you or a family member ever made Rice with Pimentoes? What's your recipe for this dish?
